NAR Condo report

09/06/2004

"Its official" ......The national median value of a condominium is now slightly below that of a single family home ...

Increasing numbers of vacation home buyers & retirees are seeking a great place in which to live, without high maintenance upkeep costs... Investors looking for rental returns are also having to look closely at potential yields, for the recent hike in prices for a good rentable single family home with private pool & furniture package within the sought after Disney catchments, has made this option much more difficult, for villa pool home rentals have not yet risen accordingly...

...Extensive & otherwise expensive amenities packages avaialble with most condominiums seem to be proving an attractive enticement for buyers... A National Association of Realtors report shows that nationally, the median value of a condo rose more than 27% between the year 2000 & 2002......double the increase for regular housing!........The median condo value in the 2nd quarter of 2003 ($163,500) is now just slightly below that of a single family home, which is $168,400 Source N.A.R.
